“I was introduced to Pam Matlock prior to the formation of Matlock Real Estate. Pam had represented the buyer on the sale of a home in my neighborhood in Prosper, Texas. Initially I was impressed in that she had delivered the only $1,000,000 buyer to the area in what was otherwise at that time a slowly improving but very down and over supplied market. I interviewed multiple realtors in addition to Pam including a long-established realtor that I had successfully utilized as a listing agent 12 years earlier. Everyone wanted me to severely reduce my price from my initial expectations. Pam offered a contrarian point of view to her industry contemporaries. She recognized the value of a very high-end custom home located on a unique setting and advised me that the sale would likely take longer than a typical listing but that there would be buyer(s) who would recognize the value and be willing to pay a premium for it.

In the midst of the listing Pam broke away from her old firm and established Matlock Real Estate with her husband Erin. While our old firm pitched me to retain the listing there was no question in my mind that I was going with Pam and her new company. There were times during the listing process that I thought alternate strategies might be in order and conferred with Pam at length. She set forth her position and her evaluation of market activity based on facts and documentation and correctly persuaded me to follow her counsel. She really didn’t have to persuade me. The facts and documentation she set forth made the decision to stay the course on the sale of my house. My home sold at a moderate discount but no where near the lowball pricing that alternate realtors had insisted would be required to facilitate a sale. Pam’s website and Erin’s magnificent photography in their collective persistence and encouragement were key to the successful sale of my home.
