First I want to say that as a Lovejoy ISD Parent of a 1st grader (and one coming up through the ranks) we could not be happier with our childs growth and development.   We get to see first hand what makes Lovejoy ISD so special and it is truly incredible.   The teachers and administrators have a science about the work, encouragement and methods on which content is delivered daily to the children – Creating strong, confident minds with solid rooting very early in life…  I am amazed, almost daily, with the information our daughter brings home!

That being said, lets review some of the honors that Lovejoy ISD has received recently:

1.  Lovejoy High School Ranked one of the top 500 High Schools in the United States, by U.S. News & World Report in 2012, 2013, 2014!

2.  Lovejoy ISD is ranked 3rd in the state by The Daily Beast (formerly associated with Newsweek rankings)

3.  Lovejoy High School Ranked 220 out of nearly 20,000 High Schools reviewed by Newsweek in 2013!

4.  Lovejoy High School Ranked Nationally as one of the Top 25 High Schools in the South and 69th in the United States by The Daily Beast (formerly associated with Newsweek rankings)!

5.  Lovejoy is one of only 26 (out of 1,227) Districts in the State of Texas to receive the Texas Education Agency 2014 Distinction of Post-Secondary Readiness!

6.  Lovejoy had 181 Advanced Placement Scholars Recognized in 2014!

7.  Lovejoy had Three National Merit Finalists and 15 Commended Scholars Recognized in 2014!

8.  Lovejoy is the two time winner of the Prestigious UIL Lone Star Cup!

All very exciting and richly deserved recognition for the district!  On top of the academic awards listed above, Lovejoy also is very proud of the follow Athletic, Engineering and Arts accomplishments!

1.  Lovejoy has been State Champions in Volleyball for five consecutive years as well as Swimming, Cross Country and Track!

2.  Lovejoy was State Finalists in Swimming, Cross Country, Girls’ Basketball, Softball, Track, Wrestling, Powerlifting and Tennis!

3.  Lovejoy has State and National Recognitions in Band, Choir, Orchestra and Theatre!

4.  Lovejoy has State and National Recognitions in Journalism, Computer Science, Robotics and Chess!

Now, that we have advanced past the awards and recognitions, lets talk about some of the very things that MAKES LOVEJOY ISD WHAT IT IS!

1.  The currently, the 2014 student population is 1,259 students!

2.  Lovejoy High School will remain a district with only one high school with grades 9-12 enrollment, not to exceed 2,000 students.

3.  99% of Lovejoy High School Graduates go on to College!

4.  Student-teacher ratios for elementary schools are 22:1

5.  Student-teacher ratios for secondary schools are 25:1

6.  Lovejoy’s elementary boundaries are well established and not expected to change

7.  Lovejoy offers a K-12 Gifted and Talented Program based on eligibility.

8.  Lovejoy offers STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) including Project Lead the Way Engineering Courses.

9.  Lovejoy offers 28 Advanced Placement courses at Lovejoy High School along with online and dual credit courses.

10.  Foreign Languages Offered in Secondary Schools:  Spanish, French, Chinese and American Sign Language

I often say that sending your child to Lovejoy is much like sending them to a private school without the annual cost!  The truly unique and very hard to quantify stat is that many students who graduate Lovejoy ISD leave with as much as a year of college already under their belt.This is an intangible, valued added proposition that is difficult to measure both because of each students unique and independent paths and because each college is unique in their college requirements.
